Family Teams

What is a Family Team?
A Family Team is a group of walkers who join together to raise money for the Walk to Cure. The team can be as small as a family of four or can include hundreds of walkers (i.e. relatives, friends, neighbors, or coworkers). Whether small or large, family teams have one thing in common- all are walking to help find a cure for a loved one. Starting a family team is a great way to get family members and friends together to show their support of that loved one.

What/Who is a Team Captain?
A Team Captain is the leader of your team. Some families give this title to the child with type 1 diabetes. Others keep the Team Captain as the Mom or Dad. Whoever is listed as Team Captain will be the person who will be receiving letters, calls and or emails from JDRF volunteers and staff.

How to Get Started?
Once you have decided to participate in the Walk to Cure Diabetes as a family team, the first thing you need to do is register online at http://walk.jdrf.org/
