WeNeed Your Help!
The JDRF wasfounded in
1970 by parents of children who had diabetes. These found-
ing parents were volunteers and the spirit of volunteerism
is what drives everything that JDRFdoes. Thenational
organization is driven by a volunteer Board of Directors, as
is the Central Oklahoma Branch.
Our volunteers perform essential tasks to help us more toward
our mission to find a curefor diabetes through research.
The task performed by our volunteers are varied, but all are
important. Each task performed by a volunteer frees up staff
time, so we can write grants, organize and event, write a letter
to a donor or speak with a parent of a newly-diagnosedchild.
Central Oklahoma volunteers help us in the office by working
on mailings, entering data into our databases, proofreading
materials, organizing files and mant other administrative jobs.
Our volunteers helpus at fundraising events by loading triucks,
moving furniture, directing guests, assisting at auctions, working
at registration, and many other tasks that make our events
successful.
We also appreciate services that are “volunteered” like public
relations, consulting, event planning, etc.
Please consider volunteering forJDRFCentral Oklahoma and
helping us fulfill our promise to tens of thousands ofCentral
Oklahomans who have diabetes — TO FIND THE CURE!
